Today Dean and I finished writing our letter asking for extra funds and coming up with our budget for the trip. We have been trying to figure out this part for a LONG time now. We are asking for $340 in hopes that that will be enough. Right now we have some funds from the Singapore church which covers our food and travel expenses. Also we have money from the missionary Shelly which will cover some of our other expenses such as youth outreach and various things like fixing up the bicycles and stuff. Hopefully we will get more than we are asking for and the elders will give us some extra money so that we won't run out. We are planning on giving the letter to one of the elders in the morning and hopefully they will read it very very soon to the congregation. We also took our photos for our visas today. Dean tried to call the Chinese Consulate and ask some questions about the visas, but we didn't get much help from the woman that answered the phone. I guess that's ok though since they are closed till monday anyway. So we still need our visas, our tickets, and some money, but those things seem to all be working themselves out.

More Fun in Singapore Part 2
Last night Dean and I talked to the missionary in Singapore through the program Skype for about 25 minutes. We had some laughs, but we also started to figure out our dates for departure and arrival. We figure we will probably leave sometime mid-May and return sometime in early July. That puts us in Shanghai/Singapore for about 6 to 7 weeks. That should be enough time for us to accomplish the things that need to be done there.

More Fun in Singapore!!!
Before we get to Singapore we are going to Shanghai. We will be spending some time there to visit the members of the church. There is a church planting happening right now and we get to be a part of it! I'm very excited to go there and see the different culture. Only a few things holding us back... we don't have the tickets nor a visa. Hopefully we will be able to secure those soon.

Singapore, here I come!!!
This summer my buddy Dean and I are going to spend six weeks with the Woodlands Church of Christ. We've been wanting to spend this amount of time there since our first trip three years ago. We have the money for the tickets and some money for our trip, but we have been in need of more money to sustain us for the time there. Now we have been approved to write a letter and have the elders at our church read it to the congregation for individual contributions. Everything seems to be coming together.
